Learning a language has become a basic necessity not only for professionals but also for those who are entering a more competitive job market as well as everyday people. Knowing languages means growth, development and above all being more prepared to face the changes of today’s globalized communication. Learning languages promotes intercultural, mutual comprehension and communication between citizens in a bigger and more diverse universe.

Being aware of the importance of languages in the social and professional context, Academia de Línguas da Madeira offers language courses in a variety of formats with customized curriculum to meet the needs and availability of students.

Language Training

ALM offers classes year round:

General courses from the last week of September until the second week of July with breaks for Christmas, Carnival and Easter
Intensive courses in 30 hour packages during July, August and September
Custom courses (small groups) year round, on demand
Specialised courses (for companies and executives)
Individual classes

Both the school year and the summer’s intensive course calendars are available at the ALM headquarters or can be requested by email: alm@netmadeira.com.

Intensive courses are intended for students who want a more conversation practice and cannot commit to a full school year. A 30 hour pack equals one term.
