Portuguese for Foreigners

Portuguese is not only the official language in Portugal but also Angola, Brazil, São Tomé and Princípe and Mozambique.

Portuguese is also the official language of Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, East Timor, Macau and one of the official languages of Equatorial Guinea. It is also spoken but not official in Andorra, Luxembourg, Namibia and Paraguay.

More people speak Portuguese as a native language than French, German, Italian or Japanese. It is the fifth most spoken language in the world.

The best place to learn Portuguese is, undoubtedly in Portugal.

LANGUAGE COURSES

Our school is open year round with breaks during the Christmas and Easter Holidays.

From the end of September to the beginning of July, we offer general language courses (3 hours a week) for groups of all levels and abilities, from beginning to advanced students.

From July to September we offer intensive modular courses (30-hour module – 2 hours a day)

We also offer intensive courses throughout the year if there is a minimum of four students

Our general language group courses are designed for those who want to learn a new language or to develop their present knowledge for private, educational or professional reasons. For those who would like to supplement their group sessions with individual tutoring we offer a Plus Course, tailored to the student’s needs.

One-to-one tutoring is the fastest way to learn a language. Whether you need general or specialised language, each course is custom tailored to your needs and adapted to your rate of progress.

Our teachers are native speakers. They are well qualified and experienced in language teaching. Our faculty keep up-to-date on the latest teaching methods and philosophies. They draw on their skills and experience to select the most appropriate approach for each student or group.
